Hello,

I’m Mikayla Kaczmar! I’m a Maximalist designer with a passion for bringing bold ideas, vibrant color, and joyful details into research-driven, inclusive design. My work lives at the intersection of human-centered research, engineering precision, and expressive creativity, creating products and experiences that are both functional and emotionally resonant.

My passion for accessibility has driven some of my most impactful projects, including leading a multi-year collaboration with Boeing and All Wheels Up to design a Wheelchair Space & Securement System (WSSS) for commercial aircraft. This innovation allows passengers to remain in their personal wheelchairs for the duration of a flight and was recognized as a 2024 Crystal Cabin Award finalist. This project combined in-depth user research, stakeholder collaboration, and complex engineering constraints.

I’ve brought this same mindset to roles across consumer product development, from ideating inclusive beauty tools at SharkNinja to designing home goods informed by trend research in previous internships. Whether sketching bold product concepts or prototyping for real-world testing, I thrive in turning research insights into tangible, impactful solutions.

Maximalism, for me, isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about designing without hesitation, exploring possibility to its fullest, and infusing products with personality, purpose, and joy.
